As a University of Texas at Austin graduate with a Liberal Arts degree in Government and a minor in Business Administration, I have a broad based educational background and understanding. Although my specialization is focused on government and politics, I have extensive historical understanding and am proficient in beginners’ Spanish. I am extremely organized, compassionate and dependable, holding the same part time job for over a year and a half. I am good with time management, study skills, and alternative teaching approaches; first, I like to evaluate a student’s learning style and understand their personal motivations and barriers, especially in accordance to the subject-matter and then move on to design a long-term program to meet the student and parents’ needs. My formal experience has been with high school general studies and organizational and study skills, but I also have a long history of helping my peers and conducting study groups in all academic areas throughout undergraduate school.

I have lived in the United States for the past five years. However, that did not stop me from getting into one of the top five liberal arts colleges in the United States. I am currently a freshmen at Middlebury College. I've lived in a former Soviet Union country for most of my life. Therefore, I am a native Russian speakers. I currently speak four languages. As an Educator and Career Counselor, I have had the opportunity to interact with students within a university and community college setting for a total of nine years. I have taught career planning and job search skills within a small classroom setting as well as in a lecture hall. I recently graduated from BYU, a BA in French Studies and minor in International Business. I taught French at BYU while attending school for 2.5 years. I also have experience as a Missionary in West Africa (French Speaking) for 2 years. I received a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics in 1974. I received an M.S. degree in Mathematics and a Diploma of a Teacher of Mathematics in 1966. I have over 38 years of experience in teaching mathematics. I taught various mathematics courses as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Thomas Nelson Community College in Virginia during 2004 and 2005. These courses included Mathematics for the Liberal Arts and Precalculus. I was teaching Algebra, Geometry, General Algebra, Theory of Numbers, Mathematical Logic, Systems of Numbers, as well as teaching specialized courses in the Theory of Groups Lie and Algebras Lie, Topological groups, and Galua’s Theory at Armenian State Pedagogical University during most of my academic career. I am a college graduate, degreed in Liberal Arts (Associate's--Diablo Valley College), Journalism (Bachelor's--San Jose State University) and certified in Criminal Justice (San Jose State University). I am an undergraduate student at the University of Texas at Austin. I am a Spanish major and a German minor as well a student in the Liberal Arts Honors program. I have a 4.00 GPA and I plan on going to law school next year. I can tutor in Spanish, German, English, history, art history, reading, writing, or SAT writing. I took the AP exams in high school for English literature, Art History and Spanish, so I can help with those as well. Grammar is my specialty, and I love explaining it to other students. I have tutored students before in Spanish, history and english. I believe that a good teaching method should vary from subject to subject. For foreign languages, repetition of vocabulary and thorough explanation and practice of grammar (tenses and conjugations) is key. I also enjoy writing papers, and I consider that one of my strong points. I can help students edit their papers through organization and writing techniques.

Education: From an early age, my dream was to be an actor. I have attended the American Conservatory Theatre, and 3 years at The Theatre School at DePaul University.
