I've lived a lot of places, even overseas and find myself categorized way outside the Midwestern norms... but I tend the think Midwestern norms are rather small minded so I'm OK with that... the downside is it is hard to meet someone. I spend a lot of time exercising.... I guess you can say I got bored into the best shape of my life. I was in good shape before I came here but now I do Yoga and do a power weights class in addition to cycling. I would love to find someone that would go cycling with me at even 15 mph but it would be great if they could cruise in the low 20's. It doesn't have to be the challenge of my life but it is nice to feel it was a bit of a workout with someone I cared about. I used to go out to the underground clubs in Denver and some other cities but those are all non-smoking... the smoke in Wichita does more damage to me than the alcohol.
