My father also kept getting stationed in Baltimore where I experienced several significant events: birth, the beginning of elementary school, the beginning of high school, first love, etc. I moved to the DC area in the seventies and earned a degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park. I started working at the Washington Post in advertising the same year that Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman were filming All the President's Men...it was a really great time to be there. In fact, it was a pretty exciting place to work for about 20 years. I also loved the folk music scene in DC and spent many quality evenings singing and carousing with friends at the Red Fox Inn in Bethesda. The Folklife Festival on the Mall and gatherings at Glen Echo were also great.
