Job Description The Financial Counselor is primarily responsible for coordinating all hospital activities related to the facilities credit and collection policies and procedures. They review for any eligible insurance assistance through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Medicaid and other state programs. . The Financial Counselor is charged with the responsibility of interacting with patients and outside agencies in a professional manner in keeping with the Mission and Vision of the organization.Financial Counselors obtain referrals from many sources. Referrals may be received from self-pay registration and admitting lists, emergency room personnel, physician offices, Lynn Community Health, Salem Family Health, and community clinics.
