1965 PONTIAC PROJECT CAR. I FOUND THE CAR HERE LOCALLY AND DON'T REALLY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT'S HISTORY. I DO KNOW THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING FOR YEARS. I PULLED THE GAS TANK OUT AND FLUSHED IT CLEAN,REPLACED THE BATTERY WIRES AND SPARK PLUG WIRES AND TRIED TO START THE CAR AND IT FIRED RIGHT UP. I RAN THE BLOCK CASTING #485428 WHICH I COME UP WITH A 1974 455 BLOCK. THE TRANSMISSION IS A FOUR SPEED UNDETERMINED IF IT IS A MUNCIE OR A SAGINAW TRANS. THE CASTING # ON THE FOUR SPEED IS (GM 8 3858986 L26). THE TRANNY IS IN GOOD WORKING ORDER. THE MOTOR RUNS WITH NO KNOCKING AND A LITTLE ROUGHE IDLE, MAYBE NEEDS TUNED OR HAS A CAM IN IT. I IDLED AROUND THE COUNTY ROADS BY MY SHOP TO CHECK OUT THE TRANS. I COULDN'T REALLY GIVE TO MUCH GAS TO SEE HOW WELL IT RAN BECAUSE THE BRAKES ARE NOT WORKING. FLOOR BOARDS ARE SOLID AND SO IS THE TRUNK FLOOR. QUARTER PANELS NEED SOME WORK BUT DO NOT NEED REPLACED. DOORS ARE IN DECENT SHAPE. THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR NEEDS A LITTLE WORK. IT HAS A SMALL CREASE IN IT.
