Solitude is about how when you are alone you may do whatever you wish. You can travel to this place, or that place. You can say, do or think whatever you want, and it does not matter. There is no one to say anoa to you because you are not linked to any group, organization, institution or another person. However, this looseness, (hence the flailing tail of the yellow roseas stem) does not grant one a sense of stability - a sense of belonging. And it is from this lack of belonging that one feels like a balloon let go - a person knows he/she has the liberty to go wherever; however, in reality the person is not going anywhere. Rather, a person has simply transferred his/her sense of freedom to whatever forces are upon it at any given time - like a balloon in the wind. The Airship Mathilda sails serenely across a pendant in this fabulous, whimsical necklace. A small riveted brass gear provides the propulsion for the copper airship. She is securely riveted to a trapezoidal sterling pendant which is roughly 3 cm tall. The pendant is suspended from 18 inches of handsome sterling chain and finished with a hand forged s-clasp. The necklace was patinaed and brushed to a soft glow. I am quite fond of this piece. I named her after my Great-Great-Grandmother, a woman who I believe would have made a formidable Ships Captain

Colorful, artsy, and with detailed designs, these tiles measure approximately 1/2 inch in diameter. They've been cut to lay flat with just minimal curve to a few of the larger tiles.
