As far as novels, prose, and essays go I really enjoy the 19th and 20th centuries. I am on a modernist kick right now. Modernism and Postmodernism are probably the best things to ever come out of last century. My favorite novelist is Virginia Woolf because she makes me think about life and art and all that is comprised in the two. Others that I enjoy are the Emily and Anne Bronte (I have slightly less love for Charlotte,) Jane Austen, and Jean Rhys, but the list goes on and on.
