I am also a dialect and culture nerd, and I've found myself really interested in Columbus culture and especially the way folks talk around here. I realize many people think Columbus speech is "totally normal," but there are some interesting things about it that are unique compared to other places. I guess that's why I've ended up studying accent variation for a living, and in particular, Columbus language variation, history, and culture.
