Having grown up in the Minneapolis area, I decided I wanted to get away from the big city and ended up attending Dakota State University in the wee town of Madison, SD (pop ~6500) back in the fall of 99 and four and a half years later, I graduated with my degree in Computer Science. I work as a software engineer for a company in Sioux Falls (a town an hour away) and have had the pleasure of commuting daily since 2003. Despite the fact that moving to Sioux Falls would virtually eliminate my commute and save me a fortune on fuel (that would then be applied to rent), I just couldn't move as I loved the city and the small town life of it too much⦠this of course had to end as I am currently in the process of moving 1500 miles west to Redmond, Washington for a job I couldn't refuse... at last ending the ~8.5 wonderful years I spent in Madison.
